Project Manager
Since 1996, Waste Treatment Technologies (WTT) has been focused on organic/green waste processing. Our products include biogas, composting, air treatment, and heat harvest. Our most recent emphasis is on heat harvest and enhancing biogas quality. With a global presence, we observe that many countries are altering waste processing regulations, resulting in a growing demand for our sustainable expertise and products. Due to the growth and scope of our projects, we’re seeking a Project Manager to tackle these endeavors alongside a team.
As a Project Manager, you are responsible for managing international projects, whilst keeping quality, risk, opportunities, timing, budget, and costs under control. You inspire and lead our project teams to create value for our clients. In addition, you are the first point of contact for our clients, and they can count on your commitment and communication about progress. You make it a habit to understand first before you seek to be understood. You are responsible for the project plan, and you report on the project status and results. You work closely with your team, but also with colleagues from other teams and in other countries. English is your second language, and knowledge of German is advantageous. Moreover, you’re open to travel for projects.
At WTT, we embrace new developments without hesitation. You’ll receive significant responsibility and freedom. Our projects are highly appealing as they contribute to a more sustainable world. Additionally, we organize enjoyable and active events through an activities committee.
Does this sound appealing? We’d love to connect with you.

Project Manager
Why did you choose us?
I started at WTT as a project engineer. The type and scale of projects greatly appealed to me. Over time, I progressed to becoming a project coordinator and eventually a Project Manager.
WTT is a great employer with a friendly, close-knit team, which strongly appeals to me.
What do you like about your job?
The responsibilities as well as the freedoms you’re given. The contacts you make around the world and the cultural differences that come with it. Moreover, your tasks aren’t highly confined, and you’re also given the space to take on things that don’t necessarily fall within your role. Visiting the site when a project is nearing completion is also very rewarding. It’s always impressive to see how things have taken shape over the months.
What do you do outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy working in the garage, tinkering with engines or old machines.
I also enjoy going out with friends or going on vacation with my wife and little daughter.
Why did you choose us?
When I was looking for a job, I didn’t want the standard machine-building work where you spend the whole day designing a single steel machine. At WTT, I immediately got a sense of diversity, with multiple international projects in a relatively small organization. That was exactly what I was looking for.
What do you like about your job?
Within WTT, there’s a lot of flexibility as long as you clearly express what you want. I found that I thrive best in a role where I coordinate and engineer projects. As the technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, and field service personnel, I’m responsible for our designs. The pressure that comes with it drives me to perform at my best. The young and dynamic engineering team works hard, and we’ve significantly improved our quality and continuity by doing as much detailed engineering as possible in-house. Moreover, we don’t just work with metals; we also work extensively with plastics, which allows me to keep expanding my knowledge in this area.
What do you do outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m highly active in basketball. I’ve coached various youth teams and served as the head of the technical committee within my association for six years. Currently, I’m coaching the top women’s team at my club, which is a fantastic new challenge. It’s interesting to see how I can elevate a group of women to a higher level, especially considering I mostly deal with men in the technical world.

Robert
Project Manager
Why did you choose us?
At WTT, I can contribute to a livable environment by ensuring our waste is processed correctly and responsibly through our projects and services. Additionally, WTT’s size appeals to me: the company isn’t too large or too small. It’s big enough to have all the necessary facilities and expertise, yet not too large, maintaining a flat organizational structure with responsibilities distributed throughout the organization.
What do you like about your job?
As a Project Manager at WTT, I like that I have a high level of freedom and authority that aligns with my responsibilities. How you fulfill the role as a Project Manager is left mainly to the style that best suits each individual Project Manager. Of course, ensuring that everything needed to complete a project successfully is addressed is essential. A strong sense of self-initiative is crucial in this aspect.
What do you do outside of work?
I enjoy spending time outdoors: in my own garden and as a volunteer in and around the nature park in the heart of Almelo. Additionally, I’m often on my road or mountain bike and enjoy hiking with friends.
